Truth Telling Day

KAMAY Botany Bay is the site where the first recorded encounter between white man and Australia’s First Nation people took place.

On the above date Freshwater Church will screen the National Truth Telling Day.

It is fitting that the truth be told to the Nation from the exact area where the very first encounter took place.

Knowledge empowers, and at that spot we will look at the factual written records. Take collective responsibility as a nation to bring those records into the open and place them under public scrutiny.

This is an opportunity to hear our early shared history from factual written records and First Nations Elders whose family lived it.

You are invited to join us in proclaiming a Declaration of Recognition of our true history, and in Freshwater Church to join us in this unique day by listening to accounts led by First Nations Elders and broadcast live across the Nation.

Most Australians are aware of the stain of our colonising past and want to see justice and healing. We have only one aim, only one, to help all Australians living here to have a deeper understanding of what really happened.
